The owners of the place not only wanted a spacious and simple look but they asked for a structure that could also double up easily as a small hotel when needed. The placement of the inner patio ensures there is ample natural light while the high ceiling and the large rooms truly give the villa the look of a lavish retreat.
When you think of a beautiful beach house the image of a setting like is probably not the first thing that springs to mind. That is not so much a comment on the house itself but the images on display here which just to present a sky very different from the ‘clear and sunny’ images that we are often used to.
The house itself adheres to the modern architectural and design trends by using sleek and well defined lines open plan that ensures that each room flows into another and the extravagant use of glass along with smart use of stone to bring a sense of natural freshness while thinning the line between the interiors and the surroundings. Plush décor and a blueprint that is pretty close to minimalism make this home a delight for those who love modern homes.
The lower floor contains the kids’ bedrooms the guestrooms and other facilities like the gymnasium and the home theater which are beautifully integrated with the rest of the house. The central attraction of the residence though is the serene and minimalist pond of Buddhist inspiration that should put any worries to rest.
Designed by Kidosaki Architects Studio it is not just the external dome of the residence but also every single element present on the inside that use the Mt.Asama backdrop and play off of it. While the home itself is not physically associated with the mountain the visual presence makes it the most important part of this cool Japanese house- Just the way its owners wanted it to be!
