Overlooking the port Philip Bay area the home designed by Maddison Architects is an amalgamation of two distinct structures into one. The idea is to bring together a south and a north facing facade with simple and elegant design. While this gives the house a unique look it also helps in terms of energy management and ventilation a great deal.
Hollywood has long been known as a place where dreams are brought to life through the lens of a camera and wealthy actors live lavishly. From Marilyn and Audrey to Bogart and Bacall the homes and movie sets of some of the most famous entertainment icons in history were created or influenced by designers like Dorothy Draper and William Haines.
The theme is continued once you step in as well but the interiors are largely dominated by wonderful neutral backdrops colored in pristine white beautiful beige and brown. The thick brown wooden surfaces bring in a sense of contrast to the home while the décor which uses soft tones and unassuming shades goes along perfectly with the dark wooden colors. There is an ever-present tinge of green here and there while lovely golden yellow accents add freshness to the setting.
The wine cellar is intoxicatingly grand the gaming room conveniently placed to have loads of fun and the living room warmth and comfort galore. Offering both fun and privacy at the same time the opulence is never lost throughout.
Designed ever so elegantly by architect Danilo Matoso Macedo the structure uses both glass and stone in a wonderfully balanced fashion to create a warm and inviting home in the heart of one of Brazil’s most vibrant neighborhoods.
